The counting of votes began at 8 am today, and the results are expected to be declared by the evening.

According to the latest trends, the INC has crossed the halfway mark and is leading in 66 seats, followed by the BRS in 19 seats, the BJP in 15 seats, and the AIMIM in 7 seats.

The Congress has also gained a significant lead over the BRS in the Kamareddy constituency, where both CM Rao and Revanth Reddy are contesting.

The Congress has claimed that it will form the next government in Telangana with a comfortable majority, while the BRS has expressed confidence that it will retain power.

The BJP has said that it will emerge as the main opposition party, while the AIMIM has said that it will play a crucial role in the post-poll scenario.

The Telangana Assembly Elections are being seen as a test of the popularity of the BRS, which came to power in 2018 after leading the statehood movement for Telangana.

The Congress, which had allied with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the CPI in the previous elections, has gone solo this time, hoping to revive its fortunes in the state.

The BJP, which won only one seat in 2018, has campaigned aggressively, highlighting the central government’s schemes and the alleged failures of the BRS.

The AIMIM, which has a strong base in the Hyderabad region, has tried to expand its reach to other parts of the state, especially among the Muslim voters.

The Telangana Assembly Elections are also important for the national political scenario, as they are being held along with four other states – Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Goa.

The results of these elections will have a bearing on the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, and the political strategies of the various parties.
